About the event
OVERVIEW
This short course of 6 fortnightly sessions (6.15pm - 8.45pm) will use one very ordinary starting point – a bunch of sticks – to explore different ways of seeing, thinking and making. Across the course we’ll draw them, wrap them, print them, sculpt with them, recreate them in clay, turn them into letterforms and find plenty of other things to do with them along the way.
Rather than focusing on mastering one particular art form, the course is about experimentation, play and developing a more open approach to creative practice. We’ll work across drawing, print, sculpture, photography and graphic processes, using each experiment as a starting point for the next.
It’s an opportunity to try unfamiliar processes, generate ideas through making, become less precious about outcomes and get more comfortable with not knowing exactly where an idea is going. No particular creative experience is needed – just a willingness…
