That means you should expect a space that's functional rather than polished. It's a working, evolving environment where creativity comes first. There might be the odd colour wall, make-do furniture or handmade signs — but that's all part of making the most of an opportunity.

We think meanwhile spaces are a win for everyone involved. Empty buildings become active and welcoming, artists and organisations have somewhere to experiment and connect with audiences, and local communities gain access to creative activity that might not otherwise happen. It's a grassroots model that allows ideas to be tested, partnerships to grow and creativity to flourish.
