OVERVIEW:

Explore Japanese stab stitch in this three-hour bookmaking workshop. This traditional, non-adhesive binding technique uses visible stitching along the spine to bind individual sheets together, creating books that are both functional and decorative.

Starting with the classic four-hole stitch, you’ll learn the foundations of the technique before moving on to more decorative variations. Through experimenting with different stitch patterns, threads and materials, you’ll create a series of soft-cover books and explore the versatility of stab binding for your own creative projects.
