ILKLEY WALK & DRAW
guided drawing and mark making from nature
Walk and Draw will take you on a stroll through Ilkley for 2 hours, exploring some of the beautiful sights the town has to offer. We will stop at various points along the way to notice, reflect and draw in our sketch books. At each point along the route, Zoe from Short & Few will provide drawing activities that explore a range of methods and materials, encouraging you to draw from nature in experimental ways. We will explore shape, pattern and texture; take rubbings; cut stencils; make collages; layer painting and drawing.

The aim is to leave with a sketchbook full of drawings, decent conversation, quality time spent with nature, and maybe a new friend or two. Just bring something to sit on - sketchbooks/papers and drawing materials are provided.

HOW DOES 'WALK AND DRAW' WORK?
We'll meet at the bottom of Hebers Ghyll in Ilkley at 1pm and walk for 2 hours up through the Ghyll, across Ilkley Moor and end at White Wells Car Park.
All drawing materials are provided, all you need to do is bring something to sit on whilst we draw (this could be a bin bag for the ground if you like!)
The walk will be easy to moderate - nothing strenuous, but there will be inclines and 'off-roading', so ensure you have sensible footwear and know what your limits are. There is no age limit, but we ask that anyone under 18 is accompanied by an adult.
All drawing abilities are welcome - whether you've not drawn in ages, don't consider yourself an artist, or are a seasoned artist. However, the drawing activities do not explore a 'house style' and are experimental and loose in their nature. The aim is to share a curiosity for drawing and create a bunch of imagery that you can take into other projects.
